About Me

Hi, my name is Rachel. I am a fully qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor who offers face to face, online and telephone counselling.

I started my counselling training back in 2006 when my life took an unexpected turn. I had to stop and reassess everything that I once knew as ‘my normal’.  I started with the Level 2 Introduction to Counselling and then went onto study the Level 3. My training had to be delayed again due to more life alterations but I picked back up the books and finally achieved my dream of becoming a qualified counsellor.

I have been trained in person centred therapy which means that our sessions are led by you. I combine learnt skills and tools from different counselling approaches which in turn will help you to explore and express your thoughts, feelings and emotions with the hope of creating a better understanding of self.  It is my belief that we are the experts on ourselves, we just sometimes need that space and time to be heard. I will be able to offer you that safe space whereby we will work together in the hope of you finding a way to move forward.

I have many years of working and supporting individuals and families in both the private and volunteer sector. This has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience with all different ages on a wide range of many different issues.

My specialist areas include bereavement and loss, working with parents who have experienced baby loss at any stage of pregnancy or thereafter, addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and trauma. I also work with helping couples explore and enhance their relationship to try and achieve outcomes that is in the best interests of all parties involved.
